Churchwide News

  • Sunday School for all ages this Sunday from 10:15-11 AM. See the list of classes for all ages on the back page of your Sunday bulletin. And you can visit the hallway Connections Spot on Sunday for further information.

  • Mission Trip Update Dinner THIS SUNDAY, 6 PM in the Commons. We hope you will join us as the Peru team shares stories from their recent mission trip, and is seeking to raise funds for the community they visited. Learn more and sign up here.

  • Security Updates: FPC has a Security Team that has been updating our protocols. Starting April 1, the building will only be accessed by the front and back doors every day. We will be making a sole exception with the 2 sanctuary and Corporation Street Vestibule doors on Sunday mornings for worship, opening them (only) from 10:45-11:30 AM for sanctuary worship. 

  • Order Easter Flowers - These are in Memory of and In Honor of loved ones, to adorn our worship spaces on Easter Sunday. Deadline is THIS SUNDAY! You can order online here. Or grab a form from the Connections Spot on Sunday morning.

  • The Journey of Jesus during Holy Week - We invite you to join us in journeying through events that brought Jesus to the cross. This will be set up in the Commons on April 16 from 12-2 PM & 6:30-8:30 PM, April 17 from 12-2 PM & 4-6 PM, and April 18 from 12-2 PM & 5-7 PM. More info here.

  • Cub Scouts Pack 406 is having a Chili cook off here at FPC, THIS SUNDAY, 12:30-3 PM. Come out and support and enjoy some yummy chili! Click here to learn more.

  • The Beaver Valley Choral Society Lenten Concert Series begins tomorrow! They have 4 concerts coming soon for this Lenten season. Visit bvchoralsociety.org for their schedule.

  • 4th Annual Blessings Through Adoption Bingo Fundraiser on Saturday, April 26, from 3-6 PM. Plan ahead to attend! Click here for details and ways you can help.

  • Ligonier Work Days coming soon! It's time to get the camp property ready for summer and they are looking for volunteers to come help. April 12 and May 10, breakfast served at 8:30 a.m., lunch at 1, and workday finishes mid-afternoon. Contact John Finkbeiner at johnjfink@yahoo.com.

  • The Welcome Home Ministry is an outreach helping provide furniture and resources to empower people to start over when they have experienced loss and hardship. We are currently in need of: bed frames, dressers, small dining tables, and small love seats. Contact Stephanie Boyd at the church (sboyd@fpcbeaver.com).   • Backpack Program: Better Together partners with BASD National Honor Society provides snacks & ready made meals for children in grades K-12, who are at risk for hunger over the weekends. For a donation list, or how to simply donate funds, click here. Drop off weekly to the main office.

  • A new ministry to our county: Community Home Rehabilitation Crew (CHRC). We intend to provide home repairs for individuals in our county. If you wish to be part of this volunteer ministry--handy or not--please head to our website for more information, to volunteer or to make a donation (CHRCrew.org).   • If you or a loved one want the Pastoral Staff to know that you need care or a visit, email us at hospital@fpcbeaver.com. If you do not have access to email, contact the church office so that the pastor on call can be contacted.

  • Stephen Ministers are waiting: Don’t struggle alone… Stephen Ministers are available to walk with you. Call 412-974-3168.

  • Please fill out our Pew Pads on Sunday mornings! We pass these around during offering time—please fill these out EVERY Sunday so we can be sure you stay current in our records and receive our mailings. Whether you are a member, regular attendee or a visitor - there is a lot going on here at FPC, we don’t want to miss anyone.

  • Prime Timers 3rd Annual Birthday Bash TONIGHT! All are welcome from 5:30-8 PM, in Fellowship Hall. Celebrating everybody’s birthday! Dinner, cake, fellowship and games!   • PARENTS - Mark your calendars for VBS, June 16-19 - please consider and pray about being part of this fun filled week in God’s Word. Registration opens April 27 (must be 4 by August 31). We are collecting paper towel tubes for a craft, we’ll need about 90!! Contact Marion Butler.

  • A Men’s Spring Outing - Join us on Saturday, April 26, 4-7 PM. Don’t miss this chance after a long winter to gather for an afternoon of fun, food, fellowship, and enjoying the great outdoors at the O’Leary Farm, 123 Brady’s Run, Beaver (behind Seven Oaks Country Club).   • Deacons are offering scholarships for children attending Christian summer camps, regardless of financial status. For details and to apply, click here! If you want to give to help support this ministry, please give to the church and designate your donation for the Deacons fund.

  • The Technology Crew is still in need of additional volunteers. Areas of need include audio production, video production, computer graphics and video streaming. No specific skills are necessary, and training will be provided. There is an increased need for part-time and substitute volunteers for the 9 AM Fellowship Hall services, although volunteers for any of our services are welcomed.   • Church Safety: Interested in volunteering to be part of teams that help make FPC safe on Sunday mornings? Contact Jeff Arnold (pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com) for more information. 

  • FPC will be doing a sermon series this summer/fall on Off the Beaten Track Psalms. If you would like to share a meaningful experience connected to a Psalm, please contact Jeff at pastorjeffarnold@gmail.com.

  • Pickle Ball for Men and Women is on Friday nights, 8-10 PM, at the Bradys Run Indoor facility. Join us! There is a $5 (recommended) donation to play. You can sign up here to play.

  • Domestic Mission Committee seeks new members! Our Domestic Mission Committee represents FPC to mostly Beaver County mission partners. We are looking for new members. If you wish to join us you may speak to chair Dale Cottrill (dale.cottrill@comcast.net).

Adult Information

  • Get plugged into a Small Group – This is an excellent opportunity to study scripture, pray with others and learn to live together in loving and caring communities. If you are not currently in a small group and would like to be in one as we come into the  fall, we encourage you to register here. You can choose to register for a men’s, women’s, or co-ed group. Contact Martha Schartner with questions.

  • Men’s Ministry here at FPC! Get involved in a men’s discipleship group. You can sign up here and join in anytime!

  • Faith in Action is still in need of more volunteer drivers! NO requirement of how many rides you would need to provide - as this volunteer program is very flexible. Contact Carla McKrell at (814) 450-3985. Driving is mainly within Beaver and Brighton Twp. (Faith in Action is a special ministry that provides rides to older citizens who are shut in. Generally, these rides are provided for those 60 and over.)

  • Looking for Greeters! An easy and rewarding way to serve with a smile. If you’re already here on Sunday mornings – why not bring joy by welcoming congregants into worship. It is a once-a-month opportunity to serve. We are looking for 4 volunteers for the 11:15 Sanctuary service. Contact Lucinda (lpelka@fpcbeaver.com).

High School & Middle School:

  • Sunday School from 10:15-11 AM. High School meets on the third floor, Middle School guys in Room 204, and girls in 202. 

  • High School Youth Group (grades 9-12) on Sunday evenings, from 6:45-8:45. Come for an evening of fellowship, games and spending time in God’s word.

  • High School Community Groups: Girls meet Wednesdays at 7 PM. Guys on Thursdays at 7 PM. To get involved, contact Cory Longenecker (clongenecker@fpcbeaver.com). 

  • Middle School Youth Group (grades 6-8) held on Wednesdays from 6:45-8:30 PM. Come for an evening of fellowship, games and spending time in God’s word. Bring a friend!

  • SPARKS (K-2nd) Mondays 4.30-5.30 PM. Meet in Fellowship Hall for play, music time and our Bible study on the Parables. This week, the Parable of the Mustard Seed encourages us to trust in God’s strength and power to work in and through us.

  • QUEST (3rd-5th) Thursdays 6.30-8 PM. Join us for games, snack, Bible lesson & small group time, as we discover that GOD IS KING. This week’s Bible Study is about that moment when Jesus was revealed to His closest friends in all His glory - they saw His power magnified and that JESUS IS MESSIAH.
